drone pilot fpv in edmonton alberta aerial videography and photography about Martin with DroneBuzz

Martin Vendrame

Meet the Pilot

Since starting my business in 2016, I've achieved milestones that have shaped my business and discovered that the adrenaline-filled days I missed from my military service could be found once again through drones! My time in the military taught me how to manage stressful and adrenaline-filled situations calmly and stay cool under pressure. When working with my clients, I always put an emphasis on gaining a firm understanding of what my clients truly want.

Building a high speed, custom FPV drone not only capable of reaching speeds of up to 150 km/h but also having it be approved to take flight in controlled airspace at the Alberta International Airshow, was a testament to my dedication and innovation. This allows me to capture the adrenaline-filled events of extreme sports, bringing viewers closer to the action than ever before!

My bold approach enables to secure shots that others might be reluctant to get. I also welcome any chance to educate people on what is possible with drones.

- UAV Ground School Certificate.
- Valid SFOC.

- Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), Visual line-of-sight (VLOS)- Advance Operations Certificate.

- Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronotical

A word from Martin

Aviation has been a passion of mine since an early age.
After my military service, I wanted to keep serving and helping people by following my passion.

I believe drones are the future. DroneBuzz was created from the passion of flying, the heart for helping people and utilizing the latest technology.

Our Story

I started with my first drone in early 2016 with the goal of doing aerial photos and videos. I wanted to share my passion of aviation and at the same time, utilize the latest technology the world had to offer. My first project was with Castrol Raceway at the airport, which left an impression and with that experience, I started building my portfolio. Today, my business has grown to a new level which involves working on projects with some of Edmonton’s largest commercial real estate companies and others across Alberta. Through all this I was able to work with Elevate Aviation and expose people to drones by running classes. Now we’re building a drone course as part of Elevate Aviation's learning centre program and I’m excited to be one of the main instructors. In a way, I am now able to share my knowledge with other people/students who are equally as passionate about aviation as I am, which really excites me!

Currently, drones are mainly utilized for aerial photography and surveys, however some of the upcoming trends in the industry are: farming (drone spraying), drone delivery services, drone FPV (First Person View) filming and drone racing as a sport. I am most excited about the drone FPV filming trend and am one of the first in Alberta to provide this new type of filming and video footage. This type of flying has no automatic pre-sets which means all video movements are the true skills of the pilot himself in which the pilot must micromanage all aspects of the drone, both in the air and on the ground.
